Only in Portuguese Colecção Parlamento Dicionário da I República e do Republicanismo (Dictionary of the First Republic and Republicanism) Committee composed by research centres on contemporary history The aim of this publication is to be easily consulted by a wide range of readers, providing varied and accurate information on the origins, development and establishment of the republican movement in Portugal, in the scope of institutions, personalities and events, and on special features of the economic, social and cultural life during the First Republic. The dictionary shall include about 2,000 headwords in three volumes containing approximately 400 pages each. The book shall also have a chronology, a list of authors, iconographic elements and statistical tables. This initiative is organized by the committee of representatives of research centres on contemporary history from the following institutions: Instituto Superior de Ciências do Trabalho e da Empresa, Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Universidade dos Açores, Universidade de Coimbra, Universidade de Évora, Universidade de Lisboa, Instituto de Ciências Sociais, Universidade do Porto and Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
